Rules in Speaking Fluent English

One must not study grammar too much in doing English. Its really contradicting when one must study grammar in order for you to understand English, but then, grammar is great especially in writings but in doing it in verbal way, one must speaks English with phrases and right intonation. A mind can’t speaks but a great mouth can, so learning grammar too much can lead to confusion when a mind wants to stick to the old book and yet the lingo of one’s mouth are different especially in pronunciation. Just apply the basic ones and the rest will follow when a mouth speaks and wanted to communicate, one must not slightly stuck his/her nose to the grammar book for confusion can led to disaster in communicating oneself to others.

Don’t translate too much. Don’t watched  too much Non- English movires ot television series with a subtitle on it. Some of those subtitles are not great in English grammar in which  one must create confusion to young’s mind. If you want to learned English, then watched or listen an audio books of English movies, case study, and a lot more educational tools.

The most important aspect in language is reading, listening and yet it’s not enough. One must learn and practice speaking to others. Interaction is the best method in learning English fluently. I suggest thoroughly speaking suggests a lot more  in doing English.

English never suggest how smart the person is and yet immersion oneself is the best tool to deal anything when it comes to speaking the universal language.

Practice makes perfect as what people said in learning English, but then appropriate learning materials will help a lot in having a great speaking area in English language.

Learning English: Tips to Building A Comprehensive Vocabulary

Everyone who uses the English language, from toddlers beginning to speak their first few words, to immigrants learning English as a second language, to veteran journalists and English language instructors know the importance of a comprehensive vocabulary that one can readily draw upon in the midst of writing or conversation. Sometimes, the difficulty is in not being able to find the right word that describes a situation, feeling or action. At other times, we realize that we do not know that particular word at all. It can also be frustrating to read a magazine article or book and come across words whose meaning we do not know. After all, knowledge of language can be considered as power in a way. Building a vocabulary that addresses our reading and self-expression can be a powerful tool for everyone: ordinary person, writer, scholar, or keynote speaker. Below are simple tips that can enhance a person's vocabulary:

Read books, journals, magazines and newspapers that uses a vocabulary which challenge you. Seek out new words actively and double check for words that you may have simply overlooked in your previous readings. Write all these words in a piece of paper and allot three columns: the first to list the word, the second to list down a synonym or definition, and the third to write a simple sentence using the world. Have this paper handy wherever you go. During a lull or break in your day, study the paper and read it over and over again to familiarize yourself with the words, its meaning and appropriate usage.
Use every tool that can help you build your vocabulary muscles such as newspaper or magazine articles that explore the meaning of words and phrases, dictionary and board games that let you use your creativity, and the every handy thesaurus that you can consult when you want to find just the exact word that would fit what you want to say.

Learning English: The Dos and Donts of Spelling

Learning how to spell properly in English can be difficult and frustrating at times. Research has shown that it takes children who are learning English three times longer just to master the basics of writing and reading in English as compared to children learning other languages. Surveys published in English speaking countries have found that almost half of English speakers have difficulties with written communication and writing in English. Another surprising statistic is that one in five native English speakers is unable to read in English well.

English, just like any other language has a rule regarding the right way to spell words. Bear in mind that there are several variations of English such as American English, British English and Commonwealth English which are used in different regions and former colonies of the United Kingdom and the United States. For each variation, there are spelling rules as well as common exceptions. Below are some examples:

· Some words have silent letters. Words with a silent letter 'e' at the end are easy to recgonize such as 'cone', 'lone' or 'bone'. Meanwhile, words with silent letters in other places present more of a problem as far as spelling is concerned. Examples of these are words like 'align' which has a silent 'g' and 'psychiatry' which has a silent 'p'. These letters are written without being vocalized. Keep in mind, however that there are exceptions to the rule such as the word 'mileage'.
· Identical letter strings may be pronounced differently. For example, the combination 'on' has a different pronunciation in words such as 'once', 'only', 'women', and 'women'.
· For prefixes, the spelling of a word's stem is not normally changed. The examples of words with prefixes are 'intermediary', 'microchip', and 'unbelievable'.
· The spelling of a word will often change when a suffix is added such as in the words 'stopping' and 'bigger'.

Do note that there are techniques that will help you learn English spelling easier. One of the best and most effective is to keep a notebook containing words with spellings that you find too difficult. Just underline the part of the word that makes it difficult for you to remember and practice writing it every now and then.

Importance of English in Education

English is very important in education. It is the medium or language of instruction. And why not, it is the global language in which everyday activities all over the world is spoken in. English is the language of the world and so it is taught and used in education because education is preparation for the greater world of the students' future.

·    Mathematics – Let us start with a subject that deals with numbers and not letters or words as English. Mathematics uses English and it is very important in it. On second thought, Mathematics is not only about numbers, it is also about letters and words and at a very important aspect, too. Math is incomplete without English. We cannot have problem-solving without words and we cannot study and learn each lesson in Math without using English to let us know and understand each lesson. To be more precise, an answer in Math will be wrong if the words in the mathematical problem are wrongly stated or wrongly understood. Adding and subtracting involves the tenses past, present and future. For example, without a good understanding of English, you can mistake the question how many is left with how many will you deduct.

·    Science – Imagine describing the different species without a good knowledge of the English language. Scientific studies will not be successful, let alone possible without the aid of excellent English. In fact, science research is a form of English writing in the academic genre.

·    Accounting, Engineering and Other Technical Studies – There would be no glossary or index of terms and their definitions without English. The authors of the texts in these subject areas who contribute to the bodies of knowledge of these fields used English in doing so. You also need to have enough English skills to be able to read and understand them if you are to study them in the pursuit of a college degree.

Problems in Learning English

Learning a language poses difficulties even to those who use it as their native language. This is also true in the case of English. Below are some of the problems that learners of English face:

· Poor Vocabulary. Acquiring an extensive vocabulary is one of the most important task for anyone wishing to learn a new language. Any language practically has thousands of words, such that it is impossible for even a native speaker to know all the words in that language. Many reliable sources state that it will require around 800 words for a person to converse in English. Given the number of words we already know, this is an achievable number. In fact, you may just be surprised at how many words you know. Another problem that language learners contend with in relation to this is that when they do make the effort to learn new words that will add to their vocabulary, they do not make an effort to use these often enough and so over time they just tend to forget about it. They do not seem to realize that a person will need to become familiar with a word to be able to use it comfortably. The only way to become familiar with a word is to use it often such that it inevitably gets incorporated to the person's vocabulary of commonly used words and terms.
· Poor English Speaking Skills. Many of English language learners often cite their inability to say words in spoken English and to be understood back as the primary reason why they get frustrated in learning the language. Besides not knowing how to use the correct accent, it can also be a problem for people who want to speak in English if they do not have a decent vocabulary or grammar to engage in a decent conversation. Many learners subscribe to the mistaken assumption that learning grammar in the classroom or listing words to expand one's vocabulary will be enough to learn English. However, this will only translate into real knowledge of a language if you are able to apply the words and grammar in both spoken and written English.

How English Helped Me in a Great Way

The English language can help you in many different ways. This is how important it is. It has helped me in a great way. It can help you in great ways, too. My knowledge of English has helped me achieve a very difficult feat. This is landing a job I really love doing even though it was improbable to do so.

When I first applied at university, I was undecided what course to take because I wanted to be an English or Science teacher while my parents and high school teachers wanted me to become an accountant. Having no definite decision yet and not being firm on my interest in becoming a teacher, I applied for an accounting bachelors course and was given admission. I also applied for scholarship from my country's government and was awarded the scholarship. I was not very interested in my course; in fact, I was more interested in reading materials in the English language and watching television programs using English language. I also loved writing in English. Fortunately, I was still able to complete my course as a scholar and have a degree as a passport to land a job.

After graduation, I worked in many accounting jobs. I easily quit jobs and looked for other jobs because I was not happy. Then, I started looking for other types of jobs in which I might be interested in and might be happy. I came across writing jobs and it revived my love for the English language, so I applied for the writing jobs. I was accepted as a bankruptcy news writer because of my accounting education and work background. I was happy with what I was doing as my job. This enabled me to crossover from accounting to writing or from auditing to editing.
